Paris was the venue for September’s 18th ICSMGE international conference and exhibition on Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering. The conference programme included lectures, discussion sessions, workshops, presentations of papers (of which, 770 were submitted), technical visits as well as a large exhibition. GDS exhibited alongside their French agents Sols Mesures in Paris, their stand boasted a working Enterprise Level Dynamic Triaxial Testing System, a Triaxial Automated System, an Automatic Oedometer System and a Bender Element System with the GDSBEAT software.
During the conference GDS were running a competition to win an IPAD mini. Entrants had to put their business cards in the cell and wait for the draw. The eventual winner was Professor Liang Kong from the Qingdao Technological University. Professor Liang Kong can be seen with his prize in the picture above.
