Diogo Teles from GDS Instruments recently returned from Sydney, Australia, where he spent a week visiting the School of Civil Engineering’s research laboratory at the UNSW (University of New South Wales). The laboratory specialises in unsaturated soil testing and is home to the only Cyclic True Triaxial apparatus for unsaturated soils in the world. The laboratory also accommodates Consolidation, Triaxial, Resonant Column and Hardin testing systems, allowing the capability to work on multiple test applications.
Diogo’s visit focused on the training of new PhD students on their GDS systems and exploring the next steps in the university's expansion of the laboratory's testing capacity. We look forward to hearing more about the student's exciting research projects as they use GDS systems.
