Piotr Dera, Geotechnical Systems Team Lead at GDS Instruments, recently visited Sinotech’s offshore soil mechanics laboratory in Taiwan.
Sinotech & PDE Offshore Corporation launched the first dedicated offshore geotechnical laboratory in Taiwan in 2019 due to increasing investment in renewable energy projects and increased demand for advanced testing. The laboratory hosts a multitude of GDS apparatus, including Resonant Column, Dynamic, Static, Shear and Consolidation systems. It was great to return to the laboratory, where Piotr carried out equipment checks and system adjustments to assist with their accreditation, calibration and standard compliance.
