GDS' Quality Manager, Diogo Teles, completed the successful installation and training of a Dynamic Triaxial Testing System (DYNTTS) with a Bender Element System upgrade, at the University of Sharjah.

Diogo Teles, Quality Manager at GDS Instruments (GDS), has recently visited Vale SA Geotechnics award-winning Mining Development Centre in Minas Gerais, Brazil.

As global concerns increase about the pace of energy transition in accounting for long-term climate risks, the shift from fossil-based energy production to renewable sources, like wind, has been accelerated. Within Taiwan, the national offshore wind allocation plan has set a target of increasing local production to 20GW by 2035.

GDS Instruments recently installed a Hardin-style Resonant Column Apparatus, with sample ranges up to 100mm at the University of Glasgow. The apparatus was purchased with a Bender Elements upgrade allowing small strain stiffness behaviour to be analysed in detail. 

Geolabs feature GDS' Resonant Column apparatus in a recent article, explaining the benefits of the system and how they use it in their commercial laboratory. 

Geolabs Limited have recently implemented their laboratory expansion which has included the next phase of their advanced testing capabilities, with more Anisotropic CAU/CAD triaxial equipment featuring local strain and shear wave velocity measurements as well as Resonant Column (GDSRCA), Direct and Simple Shear (EMDCSS) and Continuous Rate of Strain Consolidation (CRS) test facilities.

As part of a European research programme (HYDRATECH), a specially designed Resonant Column Apparatus (RCA) was constructed by GDS Instruments for the University of Southampton, to provide conditions suitable for hydrate growth (low temperature and high pressure).
