Jerry Sutton, Technical Sales Director of GDS Instruments, has recently returned from Toronto, where GDS exhibited at the2011 Pan-Am CGS Geotechnical Conference, alongside their Canadian agent Hoskin Scientific. The conference and exhibition was very well organised and this was evident through the large number of delegates whom attended. There were poster sessions, panel discussions, short courses/workshops, technical tours, all aimed at enhancing interaction between academics, practitioners and designers.

GDS has recently returned from Athens where they exhibited at the 15th European Conference on Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering. GDS had a fully functional dynamic triaxial testing system (ELDYN) on show along with a Pressure / Volume Controller and a set of Bender Elements. All of the equipment was working on the stand and attracted significant interest. ‘Fantastic to see a triaxial system that moves fast enough for it to look interesting!’ was one comment, based on the fact that GDS had the ELDYN running tests between 1Hz and 5Hz with amplitudes between 10mm and 2mm.

The autumn edition of the Institute of Directors (IoD) Hampshire and Isle of Wight Newsletter, features GDS winning their Queens award for Enterprise in International Trade on its front-page.

Thursday 14th July 2011, Patrick Hooker, Chairman & Chief Executive of GDS and Jenny Hooker, HR Director, were invited to Buckingham Palace to receive the companies award for Enterprise in International Trade from her royal highness the Queen.

This months edition of Building Design and Construction Magazine features articles on the Queens Award and GDS Instruments.

Wednesday June the 15th marked GDS' first visit by a representative of the queen – Dame Mary Fagan, Lord-Lieutenant of Hampshire. On this occasion it was the presentation ceremony for winning the Queens Award for Enterprise in International Trade 2011.

GDS Instruments, recently exhibited at the BGA's annual conference & exhibition in London. The conference was a showcase of the best of British Geotechnics and included presentations from a number of leading Universities and commercial companies.

Jerry Sutton, Technical Sales Director of GDS Instruments, has recently returned from Hong Kong, where GDS exhibited at the 14th Asian Regional Conference on Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering alongside their Chinese agent Earth Products China (EPC). The conference and exhibition was held over four days and included topics such as Geotechnics for transportation and infrastructure, Ground improvement, Slopes and Foundations to name but a few.

Jerry Sutton, Technical Sales Director of GDS Instruments, recently returned from Dallas, Texas, where GDS exhibited at Geo-Frontiers 2011. Geo-Frontiers is an event which focuses on “Advances in Geotechnical Engineering”. The event attracted a record-setting 1900+ participants, which was evident on the amount of activity we received at our stand. On the stand, Jerry was showcasing our V2 Standard Pressure Controller, alongside a set of our bender elements transducers, both of which, generated a lot of interest.
